MOI ACCEPTING UNIVERSITY LIST - INDIA

We are pleased to inform you that Coventry University will accept “Medium of Instruction” letters as proof of English Language proficiency from the following institutions in India:

Additional Information and Requirements

A “Medium of Instruction” letter is a document which confirms that the applicant has been taught their degree in English.

An MOI letter must meet the following criteria to be acceptable for fulfilling our Admissions requirements into Post Graduate programmes: -

1. State that the sole medium of instruction at the University was English language.
2. Be linked to a minimum bachelor’s degree qualification successfully completed by the applicant.
3. Gap of studies - 2 years maximum since completion-The degree must have been awarded within 2 years of the start date of the course which they have applied for at Coventry University Group
4. The degree must meet the academic entry criteria for the course that an applicant has an offer to study at Coventry University.
5. Be on Letter headed paper of the issuing institution OR a related affiliate college that operates in line with the awarding credentials of the parent University.
6. Have a date of issue.
7. Have the University official stamp/have an official signature from the University.
8. The Applicants’ names and other personal details including date of birth, gender where specified must match the degree certificate, degree transcript and their passport’s bio-data details. (* verifying name/bio data discrepancies excluding marriage, will not be accepted for this document)
9. Digital copies of this document will not be accepted at enrolment. Originals are required.

We are unable to accept an MOI in the following instances:  

1. Where an applicant has failed or presented an expired SELT result achieved within the past 12 months.
2. To meet admissions requirements for any course which would require a UKVI SELT.
3. To meet admissions requirements for any course which has a non-standard English language requirement due to the programme specification/accreditation.
4. For any degree programmes not delivered in English language.
5. For any degree programmes which was delivered in more than one Language.
6. Any qualification less than equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree.
7. From a lecturer, as the letter must be officially issued by the university/ affiliate college.  

SEPT 24 Applicants  

For existing September 2024 applicants (that have previously studied at the above institutions in India) who are yet to have CAS issued to them because they are yet to meet their English Language condition, please inform them of this news and support them with providing us with an MOI letter( that meet the above criteria).

Applicants who want to defer their offer to a future intake.

Applicants deferring a previous offer to a new intake, would have their deferred offer letter processed with an MOI consideration, if applicable. Please note offers for admissions will be subject to our entry requirements specified within the application period.
